Monaco

European standards:

How can one best meet the needs of people who are confronted with fires, explosions, gas leaks and hostile environments on a daily basis?

In the course of 2010 the chief of the fire brigades of Monaco ordered the logistical service to think about the acquisition of new personal protective equipment.

The intervention suit had to be red to improve the visibility of the firemen particularly during their missions in tunnels

The short jacket has two inside pockets to put away the gloves. A Napoleon pocket can hold a notebook or some chalks. On the outside there are two large chest pockets for the digital radios with an overlap that leaves a passage for the antenna. Above those pockets there are fixation loops for remote micros and waterproof lamps. In the two pockets with overlap on the sleeves the fireman can put away his lamp. He can attach gloves or a thermographic camera on the rings on the front of the jacket. It can be closed by an anti-panic zip fastener

Thanks to the different treatments of the inner and outer fabric, the membrane can be removed, which reduces the wheight of the product and improves its breathability.

A rescue grip has been integrated in the jacket to be able to quickly evacuate the fireman in need.

A removable personalized vest, in different colours depending on the position and the mission, can be attached to the jacket.

The trousers have also been adapted. They come higher on the thorax to assure a better protection of the vital organs.

Thanks to the zippers at the side of the legs, the trousers can be put on quickly and they fit nicely over the boots. The knee reinforcements in Kevlar molton coated with a fire resistant polymer offer more protection when the wearer is on his knees or when he has to move crawling. The same reinforcements can be found on the elbows of the jacket.

Hivis stripings

Retroreflective striping - triple trim (fluo/silver/fluo)

This striping has a grey, retroreflective central part with two fluorescent (yellow or orange) bands around it. The yellow colour improves visibility by day whilst the retroreflective silver part reflects the light from the headlights of cars by night.

This striping can't be used to obtain an EN 471/EN ISO 20471 certification because the retroreflective part isn't wide enough.

Complex 538 - Microrip

A light, resistant and very breathable complex.
