It is part of the job responsibilities of the DGSCGC (General directorate for civil security and crisis management) to engage, via the national resources division, the military unit of the civil security to intervene every summer in the south of France mainly to fight forest fires.
During this very particular mission the firemen are exposed to a lot of factors with a major physiological impact: intervention time, ambient temperature; fysical activity... Therefore the SDMN wants a jacket with the best possible ventilation to reduce heat stress.
The SDMN chose for a monobloc prism striping to obtain a garment that delivers good performances in all climatological circumstances. Moreover, the jacket wears the colours of the DGSCGC for indentification and the national image.
Since the belt isn't used anymore we developed a fixing system, origingating from the army, to take an emergency mask with on an intervention.
Retroreflective striping - prisms
A new striping with combined characteristics for firemen. It takes advantage of the micro-prismatic technology and offers therefore a reflection that is three times stronger than that of a striping with glass beads in rainy weather. At the same time, the striping presents a better abrasion resistance.
This striping cannot be used to obtain an EN 471/EN ISO 20471 certification as the fluorescent part doesn't fit within the frame of the standard. The monobloc construction guarantees a good flexibility and more comfort.
